In combination with BioShield Pigments, we have created a variety of decorative pastels. Casein Pastel Colors come in a ready-to-mix powder form (just add water), that has an unlimited shelf life if stored properly. Colors for touch-ups can be stores for years.
Application Range: Use these colors on walls, furniture, trim and while applying techniques such as stenciling, washing and sponging.
Technical Information: The paint powder is water soluble and easily can be mixed by hand (cake beater or "magic wand") in container; for larger batches we recommend using an electric drill with a paddle mixer. All pastels can be intermixed. For lighter colors, they also may be added to BioShield Casein White Base #10 or BioShield Casein High White #100.
Method of Application: Apply BioShield Casein Pastel Colors by roller (3/8" to 5/8" nap), brush, sponge or rag. Room temperature should be more than 10 C (50 F). Priming is recommended over gypsum surfaces and drywall compounds containing gypsum. In special cases, use BioShield Solvent-Free Wall Paint #18 or White Undercoater #66 for priming purposes.
Ingredients: Casein Milk Solids, Lime, Clay, Cellulose, Asbestos-Free Talcum, Salt (Sodium Phosphate), BioShield Pigments. Product comes in a water-soluble powder form and does not contain solvents (zero V.O.C.-no Volatile Organic Compounds).
Coverage: Depending on surface, 400 grams will cover 40 to 80 square feet.
Note: Always mix enough Casein Paint for what you intend to use, and use up what you have mixed. Colors can be enhanced and deepened by coating with #15 Wall Glaze or Floor and Furniture Hard Wax #32.
